How a Bill Becomes a Law

The Executive Government is made up of the king who is represented by the GG or Governor General, the Prime Minister, and their selected Ministers and Cabinet members whose jobs are to draft and put forward bill to be reviewed by the house of Representatives and the Senate than finally signed off by the Governor General

Parliament is made up of two houses the House of Representatives and the Senate. They are responsible for passing and changing federal laws. The house of Representatives is made up of one hundred and fifty one elected members. The Senate has seventy six senators twelve for each state and two for every territory.

The Governor General is the representative for the king. It is the Governor General's responsibility to sign off on bills on behalf of the king. the Governor General has the power to remove the Prime Minister from office if necessary.

A bill will then become an act of parliament once it gets passed through both the house of representatives and the senate and then must be signed off by the Governor General then it becomes an act of parliament and therefore a law.
